Computer Access

All library branches provide computers with Internet access and connections to library catalogs. Access to Web-based applications, including Microsoft Office Online and Google Workspace (formerly Google Office), is available.

Computer Sessions

Each patron can access a computer for two hours at a time. All sessions can be extended in one hour increments unless all computers are in use.

Children's Access

Kids must be at least 13 years old to use library computers alone. Children 12 and under need an adult (18 or older) with them. Younger kids can use special computers in the Junior section with adult supervision.

Computer Rules

Georgia residents need a PINES library card in good standing to use a computer.

Out-of-state or foreign visitors can use a computer with a photo ID, like a driver's license or passport to receive a guest pass to use the computer.

Please silence your cell phones and other devices while in the library.

Availability

You can't reserve a computer; it's first-come, first-served. Most of the time, we have enough computers for everyone to use.

Content Filters

We have filters on library computers to follow the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA). These filters block certain websites. Our staff can't remove them. If you want unfiltered access, check out a Chromebook.

Software

You cannot install or use any software on library computers.

Privacy

After each person finishes using a library computer, all information is deleted to ensure privacy and security.
